A Month of Favorites: Wrap Up Giveaways

Remember last week when I posted two different giveaways?
Random number generator tells me that Sheila is the winner of Leethal's Adventure Knitting: A Day in the Woods.
Sheila said, "I'd like to go on a real life knitting adventure to Iceland. I've seen so many gorgeous photos (of both knitting and scenery) on various knitting blogs in the last few years. Since the budget puts that firmly in fantasyland, Leethal's booklet would be a good substitute knitting adventure that I could maybe actually experience!"
Sheila, I totally agree with you! Iceland seems to be the hip new place for knitters to visit abroad and I'd like to see all of those fantastic Lopi sweaters in the wild. I've sent you a Rav message and your ebook, I look forward to seeing what you make with it.

The other giveaway was a mystery giveaway. I picked up some very nice goodies from the Knit Fit! marketplace while I volunteered over the weekend.

A Knit Fit! project bag. Small enough to carry in a purse but large enough for a pair of socks.
A small skein of Willow Creek Farm Alpaca & Silk from Roy, WA.
A skein of Intrepid Otter Sparkle Sock in the Natalie Color. I love the Stellina in this yarn base and may have to purchase another skein for me.

A reusable, reversible coffee (or tea) sleeve from Chubby Cloud.

Isn't that a nice little bag of goodies? I had a fun time shopping the market knowing that some lucky person was going to have all of these nice things.

To enter, let me know what your dream fiber event would consist of - a small retreat in cabins with catered food and wine? A huge market with vendors from all over? A traveling yarn bus that takes you on a regional yarn crawl? Let me hear it!

Please make sure to leave a way for me to reach you, email or Ravelry username both work great! I'll take comments made through next Monday, the 11th, at midnight and draw names on Tuesday. Make sure to check back to see if you're a winner! Good luck!

  1. Hi Erin, thank you for the opportunity to win such pretties! I think a trip on a bus when I could chat with people and visit all the yummy places is wonderful! Usually I go to a show with my 6 y.o. and husband. You know it cannot be fun!

  2. I just went to my dream fiber event--Rhinebeck--New York Sheep and Wool Festival in New York in October. It was my first time attending and I just loved it…I've never attended a knitting retreat. Those sound like so much fun.

  4. I've been to Stitches many times and love it. I went to KnitLab this weekend and loved the smaller venue where I felt like I could see everything. I've never been to a retreat though and that sounds absolutely fantastic. A cabin with wine, knitting, and friends. Perfection!

  5. Amazing giveaway! Thank you.
Definitely a fantasy retreat would be a spa in the morning, and knitting on a blanket while enjoying warm weather for the rest of the day. Champagne and catered food wouldn't hurt either:).

  6. I have to say that my dream fiber event would have lots of vendors along with a good selection of wineries represente. The last fuber festival I went to had a winery there and it was nice to take a few minutes to refresh. Plus who doesn't love fondling fiber ande learning about new wine?

  7. Hi, Erin,
I'm in the cabin in the woods, wine and good food camp! Maybe a few select vendors and maybe within reach of a yarn store or two. That would be ideal. Of course, a nice hotel in a city with an airport works well too. Ninaclock145

  8. Hmm...my ideal knitting retreat would involve staying someplace with immaculately clean rooms, great catered food, and an outdoor environment that was pretty without being distracting. I think the key thing would be to have no distractions like I'd have at home (house that needs cleaning, meals to cook, etc.).

Then I'd also add in some great friends to knit with, and a small selection of vendors (don't want to spend my whole time shopping or get overwhelmed with choices) and that would be perfect.

  9. I live in a small town (2000 people), so my dream knitting retreat would be, a weekend in a fun city, with great yarn shops! Get a hotel suite, bring some wine and select brews with, and go eat fabulous food!

  13. There's been a lot of buzz lately about that 5 hour Norwegian TV show where they went from shearing sheep to knitting sweaters. I'd love to participate in something like that, and be able to learn something about every step of the process. Thanks for the giveaway. KittenWhiplash on rav.

  14. A cabin in the woods, when it is super cold and crisp out. Bonfires, with fellow knitters and lots of grilled eats and beer.
The ultimate dream retreat for me. :)

  15. oh man, dream fiber retreat? I think it would be something that combines SQUAM and Rhinebeck- a day to go crazy with the sheep and the competitions and the yarn, with a week afterwards to work on all of the exciting new things.

  16. I haven't attended any knitting retreats yet. But I would love to join one - If I find any near to my living area I would join! My dream is to knit around a campfire while sharing knitting experiences so as to collect inspirations from each others.
